Sahabat Anak Office Renovation

A new touch to the house that has touched people’s hearts

Sahabat Anak’s secretariat is located on Jl. Tambak No. 23 and was the house of Rev. Lumy’s family. Initially the house was used as an activity center for his foundation, Yayasan Kampus Diakoneia Modern (KDM). This was also the place where a division of KDM formed and became known as Sahabat Anak. Over time, this house became Sahabat Anak’s secretariat office and KDM obtained a new area in Pondok Gede to establish a dorm-based children’s activity center.

The house represents Sahabat Anak’s precious values. In 1997, volunteers gathered at the house to plan and organize the first street children’s jamboree. This aging home saw the formation of Sahabat Anak, a community that eventually became independent and established a number of branches in several urban areas in Jakarta.
