TUTORIAL

The tutorial or Bimbel is a routine activity that is designed to support and guide street children’s educational journeys, both for those who are still in school and for those who have dropped out. For those who are still in school, students are aided in doing their homeworks, preparing for tests, reviewing material already learned, English lessons, etc. For those that, for one reason or another, do not currently attend school, the Bimbel seeks to equip them with the most basic skills (reading, writing, arithmetic).

Other educational activities are also done in the local Bimbels as there are opportunities, such as: showing films, making handicrafts, vocal lessons, sports, music, simulations and various other programs.

For children that are at the top of their class in school, SA seeks to give scholarships by searching for people who will “adopt” a specific child, or simply donate funds routinely, to cover the costs of these children’s school fee.

Up until now, SA has established six Bimbles in six urban communities in Jakarta. Click on each Bimbel to see its profile.
