Sholarship

Thanks to the donators that have already committed themseleves to be big brothers/sisters for the following children who, because of the donations, have the opportunity to conitnue with their schooling. This is the list of children in the SA programs that already receive a routine donation of Rp. 100 th/month.

List of Sponsored Children

Scholarships that are awarded by the Sahabat Anak organization are a part of the yearly plan of Sahabat Anak. The primary goal of giving these scholarships is so that children involved in SA’s programs can continue their schooling. Scholarships given to children are holistic, meaning they cover:

I. Education
Education is divided into 3 major areas of need, namely:
a. School fees: not all children receive money from the government program that is supposed to cover all school fees
b. Books: at the beginning of every semester students have to buy their books. The money for books is usually paid each month so that the payment is feasible.
c. Fotocopy costs: this includes fotocopying homework assignments, review exercises and tests.

II. Health
Once a month there is a health check-up for the kids.
This is done in order to keep tabs on the health of kids and ensure the children are continually in good health.
There are also informative sessions for the kids as to how they can live in healthy ways.

III. Counseling (children and parents)
Once a month the houses of the children who receive scholarships are also visited so as to see the situation in their homes. As needed, there is advice and counsel given about such things as children’s rights, family issues, etc.

Through this program it is hoped that there are less and less children living on the streets.
